YOUR LOVE STORY
A Tinder romance - Kurt and I matched in November 2017. Our first date was at Beccofino in Teneriffe. We quickly realised we had something special.
Kurt proposed two years later to the day. He proposed in the sunroom of our 1939 Queenslander (mid-renovation). He chose our home as he Wanted to tell our future children each morning This is where I proposed to your Mum.
WEDDING INSPIRATION & AESTHETIC
Effortless, romantic and timeless. Organised in just five weeks (due to COVID-19 Pandemic international border restrictions and family availability), we had a clear vision. Each decision made supported this overall aesthetic. We wanted to host an intimate celebration of love, with our closest friends and family. We spent little time planning the finer details and knew that it would just fall together on the day.
FINDING YOUR DRESS
I spotted Hazel when we first got engaged. I loved the silk organza, the billowing sleeve, and the effortless feeling of romance. I found myself constantly saving the photographs of the dress on Instagram over the next year and a half. With just three and a half weeks til the big day, I emailed KYHA and hoped for a miracle. Surprisingly, there was a gown in my size available to be couriered within the week. When I tried the dress on for the first time, in the comfort of my own home, I knew it was the one. Phew!
STYLING NOTES
All styling was selected to complement the luxe Palm Springs inspired inner-city oasis that is The Calile Hotel. The open-air rooftop is a leafy terrace with large potted olive trees required minimal ceremony styling. Guests were asked to dress Formal to elevate the timeless feel. French champagne flowed all afternoon. Long table dining, with a banquet style feast, mimicked a much-loved big family dinner.
FLORAL NOTES
The bouquet was a selection of beautiful plump white roses at staggering heights. Cloud designs with white seasonal blooms, roses and orchids, plus small vases with contrasting green seasonal blooms adorned the tables at Hellenika.
THE NON NEGOTIABLES
A Mediterranean feast, margaritas and @MeganKellyWeddings. Megan captures real moments in an honest and effortless aesthetic.
A HIGHLIGHT
Walking down the aisle with my father, Craig, to see Kurt holding our beautiful daughter, Florence. My two favourite men sharing tears of joy was heart-warming.
HONEYMOON
A family-moon at Stradbroke Island for the week following; Full of sunshine, French champagne and love.
A WORD OF ADVICE
Be yourselves! The day was reflective of the two of us as a couple, and it was an intimate celebration of love and joy.
Dont stress about the weather. The predicted damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall will (thankfully) hold-off until after the I dos. And, as a result, our portrait photographs are stunning!
