Emmie: A KYHA Bride
WHEN AND HOW WE MET
Tim spotted me at one of his Motocross races and within a week he had found out who I was and asked me on a date. We went to the local Carnival and it was on from that day forward.
OUR WEDDING LOCATION
Tim and I have recently purchased three acres in Langwarrin South as a stepping stone to hopefully one day own five acres in the Red Hill area. We spend all our spare time down that way wining and dining with our little man Creed. We love the ocean and we figured whats more perfect than the dream farm with a killer view of the Peninsula and its ocean.
Walking down the long driveway you see this big beautiful home which accommodated us for the four nights surrounding The Big Day. We were able to do a complete rehearsal with our gorgeous celebrant on the Friday, followed by a fun bridal party BBQ and drinks. Our ceremony was held behind the house, as you walk through the enchanted gardens you arrive at the pool area, and are hit with the most epic view. It really blew all of our guests away, just as it did us, and you could never get sick of looking at it.
The location was perfect for our little man and his babysitter as they were able to walk up to the house once he was ready for bed and be only a hill walk away in case he needed usThere was no curfew for Tim and I however, we vacated the marquee reception area and went swimming (okay skinny dipping) in the infinity pool overlooking the night lights of Dromana, drinking Red Hill Estate Pinot Noir, our fav!It was so nice that we didnt have to watch the clock and count down the minutes until the best day of our lives was over, and our guests just left when they wished.
THE DRESS : The Daphne Gown
Oh my gosh, lets just say third time lucky..
I purchased two gowns before my best friend sent me to KYHA and thank goodness she did because the dress I wore on the day was everything I could have dreamed of and more. The KYHA girls are so accommodating. I wanted my dress lower, shorter, more leg, more back, and they believed and delivered all while having fun!
THE WEDDING PARTY
My four bridesmaids wore matching white Shona Joy dresses, which were devine! Tim had NINE groomsmen! And although it seemed ridiculous at the start to have nine groomsmen and four bridesmaids, we simply couldnt cull anyone, he truly has nine best friends! So we chose AS Colour to dress the lads in sand chinos, white open shirts, brown belt and shoes, and they looked so good!
STYLING / FLOWERS
A girlfriend Tori and myself planned all the styling, which Tori put together for me on the day. I planned everything with a mood board which I highly recommend for all DIY brides as it helped me not lose focus on what our style was.Im so lucky as my parents are flower farmers and my Aunty Annie is a florist which meant unlimited access to flowers and foliage! I had another friend Gemma who was able to work her magic on my Dads four meter ladder, and created the most beautiful marquee ceiling centrepiece, which hanging amongst the clear roof filled with fairy lights really made the marquee!
WHAT WAS YOUR NON NEGOTIABLE FOR THE DAY?
The Photographer Vanessa Norris. Your wedding photos are everything, you have them for life. You show your grandkids and you frame them in your house. We knew we wanted Vanessa and we werent budging on that, and thank goodness we didnt because we couldnt be happier with our gallery.
We also had Canadian Club Dry on tap, its both of our all time favourite drink on a hot summers day.
HENS DAY
We had a girls weekend extravaganza in a mansion in Sorrento. On the Friday night we had the most divine surprise garden dinner party at the house, and on the Saturday we had a private booth at the Salt Bar at the Sorrento Hotel. My ladies killed it, it was everything a bride could want, and Im so grateful to them for organising it.

YOUR ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES
Make sure you and your partner stay true to yourselves and creat a day that best resembles you both. You only get married once and if you are contemplating something just do it or get it because you will regret it if you dont after the big day.
