LOCATION
We got married in Lancaster, South Carolina. It was our total dream venue, it effortlessly flowed from indoor to outdoor space. The venue was in full bloom with wildflowers and twinkly lights that lit it up after dark.
YOUR LOVE STORY
Kevin and I grew up just 15 minutes from each other in our hometown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. But we didnt end up meeting until we were both finishing up college. Ever since the first night we met we have been inseparable. He is my absolute best friend. We dated for 5 years and then he proposed at sunset on top of the Grand Canyon.
FINDING YUR DRESS
Finding my gown felt like fate. I scheduled an appointment to try on gowns at a local Pittsburgh bridal shop. But I couldnt stop thinking about the Melrose gown ever since I first laid eyes on it. Being based in America, I didnt think I would ever get a chance to try it on. It just so happened the day I booked my appointment fell on the week that Kyha was having a trunk show with the new collection. The second I put on the Melrose gown I knew it was the one. The sleeves on the Melrose were unreal. I had to have it.
INSPIRATION & AESTHETIC
Elegant and timeless. We channeled a modern southern wedding aesthetic from the venue to the food. We wanted our wedding to be classic and formal, but not stuffy! We love our friends and family so much, we simply wished for a wedding celebration full of love and laughter. And most importantly, we wanted everyone to have fun, its a party after all!
FLOWERS AND STYLING NOTES
We kept it classic and simple with only white roses for all the bouquets, boutonnires, and tables. An abundance of babys breath and candles everywhere made the venue feel so whimsical and magical. We have a babys breath arch, Im pretty sure my florist used all the babys breath in the state.
THE NON-NEGOTIABLES
A live band, good food, and an open bar! The key to any good wedding in our opinion.
A HIGHLIGHT
Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing everyone I loved in one room, especially my mom, grandmother and of course, Kevin, was so special. The speech my sister gave, I will never forget! Also, my best friends doing karaoke with the band gave everyone a good laugh.
