Set in the lunar surrounds of Australia's salt farms, Chosen by KYHA's latest collection, Sur le Sel, embodies the otherworldliness of the region's dramatic mineral relief and vast glinting facades.Sur le Sel, literally translating as On Salt, draws inspiration from crystalline terrain. A theme of soft draping carries through this 21-piece collection, a nod to moonlike rolling salt dunes, while Chosen by KYHA's bespoke beading emulates shimmering salt crystals that dance in the light.A myriad of cracks carve a meandering web across salt expanses, provoking the addition of lace to Sur le Sel. Brought most vividly to life through the Torrens gown, hints of lace enhance key silhouettes throughout the collection.
Creative Director, Kyha Scott, continues to study dichotomies in this collection, commenting: "Contradictions have always been a place of creative exploration for me. The introduction of a black colourway is designed to act in powerful contrast to the blinding white salt and distinctive pink lakes. The fluid draping you will see featured through the collection contrasts the considered construction and structure."It is this, combined with the label's trademark examination of progressive and timeless, that sees Sur le Sel truly challenge convention and celebrate individual expression.
