Kate: A KYHA Bride
WHEN AND HOW WE METJack and I met about 9 years ago through my cousin Gabrielle, we grew up living just two houses away from each other. Jack went to school in Junee (our hometown) and I went to school in Wagga Wagga (half an hour away from Junee) which meant we had completely different circles of friends and you could say we were worlds apart, but one day we started chatting and the rest as they say is history.
CEREMONY: Mt Erin Chapel, Wagga Wagga NSW
RECEPTION: Wagga Wagga Country Club. (We were even lucky enough to have full view of fireworks across the lake, it was the perfect way to top off the evening).
DRESS & VEILNo question about it, my gown was my non negotiable. I didnt even bother looking around at other wedding shops. I always knew that when I got married I wanted an elegant timeless gown with sleeves. I wanted a dressI could look back on in years to come and still be blown away by, which is why I went for a custom gown. KYHA brought the vision of my dream dress to life. It was such a fun experience and I could not be more thankful for each of the girls who helped me along the way.
I went for a simple floor length veil, as I wanted my gown to be the statement piece.
EVENT STYLING/PLANNING:Wagga Event Hire + StylingWe wanted to create a romantic ambiance with a touch of french provincial styling. We wantedclassic touchesof pale pinks and whites, rose petal scatterings everywhere, crystal tea lights all around the room. Our ceremony and reception was beyond perfect and everything we pictured it to be!
PHOTOGRAPHY:Peppermint StudiosTina was absolutely incredible and takes natural, in the moment kind of photos, which is exactly what we wanted. When deciding on a photographer we made sure we picked someone who we felt comfortable around and Tina had such an easy going relaxed vibe which made the day so relaxed and fun for us.
VIDEO:Story With Heart FilmsEmma was nothing short of amazing. She even sent us a sneak peak the day after the wedding. We originally werent going to have a videographer because we thought it was something we didnt really need but half way through the wedding process I had a change of heart and realised I didnt want to have any regrets. I researched numerous videographers and none had what we were looking for, as soon as I stumbled across Emmas work I emailed her straight away and hoped that she was still available for our date. She was so we locked her in and it was the best decision we made. We didnt even know she was there through out the whole day and the footage she managed to capture was so special and will last a lifetime.
HAIR: Erika Burkinshaw Hairstyling
MAKE UP: Khiara Butcher | Makeup Artist & Hair StylistSHOES:ValentinoI wanted a pair of shoes that I would be able to keep wearing after the wedding and I had always wanted a pair of these beauties but never really had a good enough excuse to just go and buy them so I thought what better excuse than my wedding.
BRIDESMAIDSI had two bridesmaids. My sister Sarah and my cousin Gabrielle, the girls wore beautiful floor length gowns from White Runway in Melbourne. I found out about White Runway in wedding magazines. I cared as much about their gowns as I did my own and I knew what I wanted and White Runway had exactly that!!
FLOWERS:Country MeadowsI wanted flowers that were simple yet full of elegance and scent. Our bouquets were just divine and full of roses. I loved mine so much that I still have it and intend to keep it forever if I can!!
CAKE:Hot Cakes N Cool CookiesOur cake was a masterpiece. We designed our cake together with Monica from scratch and she created the most beautiful cake Ive ever seen. First tier was a white chocolate mud cake, the second tier was choc peppermint mud cake and the bottom was a marble mud cake.
MUSICWe had an acoustic musician called Jack Thompson play at our ceremony, and the beginning of our reception. Later during the evening we had a DJ called JM Productions.
HENS DAYI had such a wonderful Hens Day. I didnt want anything big so my bridesmaids organised a weekend away in Melbourne with just a few of us and we spent the morning being pampered having our make up done before High Tea at the Windsor Hotel which was amazing. This was followed by dinner at my favourite Italian Restaurant Spaghetti Tree. After dinner we went out, drank cocktails and danced the night away.
THE BEST ADVICE I WAS GIVENThe best piece of advice I was given was to make sure I enjoyed the day and embraced every second of it because it goes way too fast. The other bit of advice I found helpful was not to stress or panic over the small stuff because at the end of the day it is about just the two of us and no one is going to notice if something isnt quite right. (Although EVERYTHING turned out absolutely perfect on the day and I couldnt fault one thing.)
