YOUR LOVE STORY
Luke and I met when we were teenagers in our small country home town. We are high school sweethearts and have been together for fourteen years. Luke chose our favourite holiday spot to propose- on the headland overlooking our favourite beach.
FINDING YOUR DRESS
The dress process was my favourite part of planning the wedding. The "Jerri" was the first gown I tried on at Kyha Studios. I immediately fell in love and after trying on other designs, I found that nothing compared and my decision was made! The girls in the studio made my experience so enjoyable and I looked forward to every fitting.
THE LOCATION
When choosing our venue we had our heart set on finding a beautiful house or building that would allow us to have a garden ceremony and a marquee reception. We were blown away with the beauty of Terrara House. It encapsulated everything we had envisaged for our wedding. The house was built in 1904 and has recently been renovated. The gardens are lusciously green and immaculately manicured, it truly looked like something out of a fairytale. We couldn't have imagined a more beautiful location to get married!
THE INSPIRATION AND AESTHETIC FOR THE DAY
We wanted our wedding day to have a classic and timeless feel. The venue spoke for itself and teamed with our amazing wedding planner Laura Harvey, our dream wedding came to life.
FLOWERS AND THE STYLING NOTES
Keeping with our classic theme, our flowers were all white mixed with green foliage. My bouquet was a bunch of delicate David Austin roses which were simply stunning. With styling, we tried to add personal touches where we could. We wrote personalised thank you messages to each group of guests and placed them amongst the flowers on the table setting which we found was a really nice touch.
THE NON-NEGOTIABLES
It was important for us to make our guests experience as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. We wanted a fluid set up were guests could flow from the ceremony to canaps to the reception all in close proximity. We had a gelato cart, cocktails flowing and a beautiful acoustic duo playing softly in the corner to create a relaxed atmosphere.
A HIGHLIGHT
A highlight was Luke and I being lifted up on our friends shoulders on the dance floor. Looking our over the entire wedding, I was able to take in our guests having an amazing time singing and dancing, the fairy lights glittering in the marquee and Terrara House majestically lit up in the distance. It was pure magic. Another memorable highlight was after we left our reception and went up onto the balcony of the house and watched our guests enjoying the last song of the night before leaving. It was incredible to finally stop and take it all in together.
HONEYMOONING
We will go on a mini-moon to the Whitsundays later in the year and hope to travel to Europe when international travel resumes.
