YOUR LOVE STORY

Our love story started 10 years ago while both working at the same accounting firm. After many Friday lunches and after work drinks, we official became an item and here we are 10 years later.

FINDING YOUR DRESS

Having worked at KYHA Studios for the past 3 years and being Kyhas younger sister, I know firsthand the quality, craftmanship and care that goes into creating every single KYHA and Chosen by KYHA gown. So for me, I felt honored to have the opportunity to work closely with Kyha and the team to create two bespoke gowns for my wedding day and two additional outfits for the day before and day after events.

THE INSPIRATION AND AESTHETIC FOR THE DAY

We didnt want to take anything away from the beautiful view at Jackalope, we wanted everything to be really neutral and paired back so the focus was on the scenery and sunset.

THE LOCATION

A couple of years ago, we booked a spontaneous weekend away at Jackalope with Andys best man and his wife and had the most amazing weekend the wine, the food, the hotel facilities and the service was incredible. It was an easy decision for us to be honest, as soon as we knew they could accommodate our ideal dates, we booked it in.

THE INSPIRATION AND AESTHETIC FOR THE DAY

We didnt want to take anything away from the beautiful view at Jackalope, we wanted everything to be really neutral and paired back so the focus was on the scenery and sunset.

FLOWERS & STYLING NOTES

I cant recommend The Style Co and Superbloom highly enough. The creativity and styling element of the wedding was one area that I was definitely not confident with and overwhelmed me the most. As soon as we met The Style Co and Superbloom, I instantly I felt at ease knowing that they understood my very basic and unsophisticated brief. The concepts they presented blew me away and I loved watching it come together on the day, again I was blown away.

THE NON-NEGOTIABLES

Ceremony and reception at the same location. Videographer. A wedding planner this was a game changer. It made the lead up and the day itself so seamless for us and stress free.

A HIGHLIGHT

There were so many highlights from the day however for me it had to be walking down the isle and seeing Andy and all of our friends and family with the biggest smiles on their faces as well as the tears of joy. The dancefloor was also definitely a highlight after 2 years of no dancefloors due to covid restrictions, we definitely made up for some lost time.

HONEYMOONING

Originally we had booked Hamilton Island for our honeymoon however as the Queensland border was closed to Victorians, we changed plans and decided to book Vomo Island in Fiji. We are so excited to be able to travel overseas again!

A WORD OF ADVICE

The best advice I received was to make sure you take some time out of the night, just the two of you, as it goes by so fast. We snuck out of the venue and enjoyed a cocktail just the two of us, it was perfect.
